| 摘要 | This article reports on cave art in Ajanta, India were two dozen man-made caves are adorned with paintings and carvings from the 5th century. The caves were designed as prayer halls and living quarters for monks and are covered with murals and stone carvings made during the reign of king Harishena. The murals tell stories from the past lives of Buddha. |
