| 摘要 | The purpose of this research project was to train and equip the Zomi Christian Leaders in India and Myanmar for missions. It was designed and prepared to train evangelists and missionaries cross-culturally for missions to Hindus and Buddhists. The hypothesis of the project was that contextualized and research-based missionary training would improve Christian leaders' biblical concept of effective missionary work. The project addressed how the missionaries of Zomi Churches faced cultural, ethical and religious problems among the Hindus and Buddhists. The Zomis are former headhunters from a non-caste animistic religious group with their own household government. After the arrival of Christianity, these headhunting tribes had become heart-hunting Christians. The Good News of Jesus Christ has not only changed the religious faith of the people, but also completely revolutionized their worldviews. Many local churches started sending missionaries to their long-time neighboring Buddhists and Hindus. It had been realized that those missionaries faced cultural, religious and ethical problems. As a result, the church leaders felt the need for a basic missionary training course to be taught to the new missionaries. This is the reason this research project was designed: it enables them to successfully address past failures of missions by the Zomis. The project equips the Christian leaders to train others for missions. Nineteen students and Christian leaders responded to the invitation to the missions seminar. They were accepted because of their past leadership qualities and future commitments for missions. The seminar was conducted for five days totaling thirty hours. The course includes the biblical foundation of missions, the theology of missions, the message of missions, Jesus and Pauline theology of missions, contextualized theology of missions, biblical sources of culture and belief, the beliefs of Hindus and Buddhists and presenting Christ to Hindus and Buddhists. Each session lasted one to two hours. |
