Buddhism was widely practised in the Wei, Jin and Northern and Southern Dynasties since it was spread to China at the end of Western Han Dynasty. Many women began to renounce families as a result of an era of suffering, and also of their group characteristics and social habits and customs. On the other hard, women' s renouncing families exerted a certain influence on social economy and life, which greatly helped to understand the historical change of the time.
