Ⅰ. Computer - Aided reconstructions : Digital Restorology We called Digital Restorology(a study about Reconstruction old heritage) is breathing new life into ancient worlds. That is to say aided reconstructions of past - "Digital Restorology". The Great Buddha of Bamiyan, offers an excellent example of a sophisticated restored object. Now we told well the prodigious power of the Virtual Reality in helping as to recreate and to visualize anew the sites that historian have excavated and studied. The Virtual Reality at the ancient city or object exhibition introduced a new category to the general public: so called - Digital Restorology - It is very important to show simulations right in front of human's eyes. * Virtual Reality : 'Virtual Reality' is used in a variety of ways. Originally, the term referred to 'Immersive Virtual Reality.' In immersive VR, the user becomes fully immersed in an artificial, three-dimensional world that is completely generated by a computer. Ⅱ. Reconstruction The Great Buddha of Bamiyan by Virtual Reality This statues of Buddha carved into the sandstone cliffs of Bamiyan, Afghanistan, were demolished by the Taleban on March 2001. The Taleban people is the fundamentalist Islamic militia that has governed most of Aghanistan from 1996 to December 2001. By March 12, 2001, this giant Buddhas have been destroyed by the use of mortars, dynamite, tanks, anti-aircraft weapons and rockets. Therefore we naver seen again. The Virtual Reality reconstruction of the original big Buddha will be done in parallel using 3 different data set. 1. The first data set consists of high resolution images of the big statue found on the Picture. 2. The second data set consists of exact sketch. This sketch of the statue, in particular the one obtained with the manual measurements, can be used for the physical reconstruction of the Buddha in Afghanistan. Here the results of the computer modeling of the great statue. 3. The third data set consists of some touristic text images acquired by Haecho (Shilla Monk) who visited the valley of Bamiyan 8C. The reconstruction process for all data sets consists of: - texture mapping and visualization by exact picture - image matching to extract the 3D Modeling by fine sketch - described text by Shilla Monk(Haecho) Ⅲ. Coculusion : Change the Paradigm Virtual Reality Technology is driving a "Digital Restorology" Revolution, triggering a new historical approach that enables researchers to restore the ruins of civilizations that no longer exist. It's acts as the infrastructure for more realistic and more attractive content creation for Digital Restorology. this is also effective method to support the conservation, preservation and restoration of cultural heritage.
