The purpose of this thesis is to study a concept of cosmology in Therav?da Buddhist Philosophy concerning with the nature of the world and the cosmos in relation to the concept of the Law of Karma, Sugati (happy courses) and Duggati (weoful courses).
The concept of Cosmology as found in Suttantapi?aka is divided into two kinds of knowledge, namely ; The first of which derived from experiences and this kind of knowledge is the knowledge about the nature of animals, human beings and some of which are the kinds of knowledge about cosmology including the facts of astronomy.
Another kind of knowledge is which derived from an intuition of the Buddha thought this power of clairvoyances.
This refers to the different spheres of being which these are various descriptions about the dread to woeful state of existence in unhappy planes and happy planes.
Generally speaking, the planes can be divided into two kinds, namely : Objective and subjective. The first refers to the existence of heaven and hell which is generally known as objective, and the second is the subjective which concerns the heaven and hell inhered in the human mind.
