| 摘要 | The aim of the study is to analyze the concept of Anatta ( non- self ) in Theravada Buddhist Philosophy based on Tripitaka in metaphysical and ethical aspect . From the study throughly , it reveals that. 1. Buddhist Philosophy discloses that Anatta is corresponding to the truth discovered by the Buddha in the time of enlightenment, namely Paticcasamuppada. Anatta, the truth following the law of nature, in the metaphysical perspective, reflects the distinction between Buddhism and other Indian religio - philosophical thought distinctively. 2. Buddhist Philosophy shows that Anatta can be applied in study and practice for the result of uprooting the upholding the concept of I- ness or Mine-ness which is the guideline of practice to the ultimate aim of Buddhism, i. e. , voidness of self ( attasunyata ) freedom of suffering( vimutti ) or condition of extinction, coldness and happiness( Nibbana ). 3. Buddhist Philosophy preceives the concept of Atta differently from any other Indian religio-philosophical thoughts, which can be summed up into two categories. : 3.1 Buddhist Philosophy negates the existence of Atta ( self ) which refers to something qualified of being permanent unchanging or indestructible, either exists as the first principle or the origin of the whole world or as the true element or the first real nature of human beings. 3.2 Buddhist Philosophy makes it clear that in Buddhism the word "Atta" can only be used for communication purpose in daily life, refering to a conglomeration of conditional body and minds. In any sense, It will never ever means the permanent self existing in such conglomeration or separately as true. Such self never exist. The logic goes like this : the self does not exist. If something exists, it is not self. Conversely, if something is the self, it is not exist. Due to illusion, thing appears to us as Self. In fact, behind the scene of appearance, exists only the truth of nature "All things are non-self". |
