| 摘要 | The study on "The Effectiveness of Opening and Receiving Information about Buddhadhamma in order to develop the quality of life and society at Wat Pak-Nam in Pasicharoen District Bangkok" was a focus study on Buddhists who came for Dharma practice during 1998-1999 and those who came for religious activities on the Buddhist days of worship (on the 8th, 14th and 15th day of each lunar cycle), on Saturday -Sunday, on public holidays, as well as on those who participated in the activities on important religious days in Buddhism. Objectives of this study are to find how effective is the opening and receiving of Dharma information in social and quality of life improvement, to find the various factors which correlate to the Dharma information receptiveness and to the participation in better community development, and what is the usage of Dharma information in further social development. The study is based on survey research, with focus on Buddhists who came for Dharma practice, 421 of them. From the study, it was found that : 1) Population characteristics which are sex and age have low correlation with the frequency of receptiveness in Dharma information. Education level, profession and income have low correlation with the frequency of receptiveness in Dharma information. Marital status has medium correlation with the frequency of receptiveness in Dharma information. 2) Communications with are Communicator, Dharma information content and Communication Channels have medium correlation with the frequency of receptiveness in Dharma information. 3) The frequency of receptiveness in Dharma information for community development has low correlation with the participation in community development. 4) The frequency of receptiveness in Dharma information in quality of life betterment and moral development has high correlation with the quality of life betterment and moral development. Problems and obstructions : Dharma communication by monks do not reach well into most Buddhists due to inability of monks to understand the communication process. Occasionally the communicated Dharma is not suitable to the audience. Monks also face the unavailability of media. Other media has greater influence than those designated for Dharma information. Based on above-mentioned problems, buddhists proposed that there should be more Dharma practice locations. Monks should teach "Dhamma Applied" which is more interesting for real use in modern day living to people of all levels. There should be increased Dharma programmes on radio and television than what is being offered nowadays. The news on monks should be done to show good image. After each Dharma sermon, there should be opportunity for Buddhists to have Questions & Answers session to clear any queries. The result of this study will be beneficial in planning and determining strategies for Dharma communication to further the growth and progress of Buddhism. |
