| 摘要 | This thesis, divided into seven chapters, features seven poems of Gary Snyder by Buddhism teachings. Through the discussion of the Snyder’s poems, people understand that how Snyder’s poems influence western society with Buddhism and how to localize Buddhism in west society. Snyder makes westerners realize that the Buddhism teachings play an important role to human beings’ life and mental growing. Chapter one introduces the big two concepts of the thesis, one is revelation, the other is enlightenment. These discussions provide eastern thinking perspectives to solve the pessimistic and negative emotions. Due to the bi change of the world, many westerners have interest in eastern philosophical thoughts as well. Chapter two introduces the lineage of beat generation and the influence of the previous thought, transcendentalism. There will be the deep discussion about the similarity and difference between transcendentalism and beat movement. Chapter three introduce the living background of Gary Snyder in order to understand his character forming and development. Chapter four introduces the features of some different eastern thoughts. Chapter five introduces the important thought of the thesis, Buddhism. There will be series introduction of Japanese Zen and Chinese Zen. The interaction and influence of Snyder’s poems and Buddhism are the discussions as well. Chapter six introduces how the Buddhism teachings influence his thoughts and poems and how Snyder applies Buddhism teachings in his works to make westerners accept different kind of perspectives and influenced their living attitude. The special part of the thesis is to understand many deep Buddhism teachings by exploring Snyder’s poems. There are few publications discussing in this ways. Through the discussion, readers can understand the deep Buddhism meanings and teachings that Gary Snyder would like to present. 本論文共分為七章，主要是以佛法教義的觀點，評論蓋瑞史奈德的七首詩作。從詩作的討論中，了解到史奈德如何讓佛法的觀念影響西方，以及讓佛法能夠美國化也就是本土化。再配合他環保的觀念，讓西方人了解，這些思想是對於人類生活與心靈成長扮演極重要的角色。論文首章在討論本題目中的兩大概念，頓悟與啟示。顯示史奈德所運用的方式而將佛法的思想讓西方人能夠接納，進而改變了生命，讓生命中的負面情緒，可以藉由東方的思維方式得到解答與解決。也討論了因時代背景中大環境的變動，使得西方對於東方的哲學思想概念有了興趣。在第二章中，討論了疲憊求解脫運動的傳承源流，並探討了超越論對其的影響，以及疲憊求解脫運動的發展背景，對於超越論和疲憊求解脫運動兩者發展的相異性和共同性有詳盡的討論。第三章中進入了本論文的主角人物蓋瑞史奈德他的生活背景，來了解他性格 的塑造以及發展。第四章中因為史奈德吸納了許多東方不同的文化與特色在此處會有簡單的介紹。第五章進入了論文的重要的核心佛教思想，對於中國禪和日本禪有一完整的介紹，其中並且有史奈德和禪宗思想的互動與交互影響。第六章中探討佛教教義與禪學與其作品的影響，並且了解史奈德如何運用他的詩作加入佛法的元素使西方社會接受不同的東方佛學觀點並影響其生活型態。本論文中特別的部分，就是由史耐德的作品分析其中所蘊含的佛教義理並加以較詳盡的探討。這是在其他的研究探討中，較少出現的。藉由此了解到史耐德所想表現的東方佛教思想的意義與深度。 |
