| 摘要 | 釋迦文佛石塔位於福建省莆田市區西南鳳凰山麓的廣化寺東側，又稱廣化寺塔,建于南宋乾道元年（1165年）之前，仿木構樓閣式石築，八角五層空心，高30.6米。塔身滿雕各類佛教題材造像，極為精美豐富，是福建省除泉州開元寺雙石塔外又一處建構水平較高，體量較大，年代較早且保存完好的中國傳統仿木構樓閣式石塔，1988年被國務院批準為第三批全國重點文物保護單位。 Located east of the Guanghua Temple in the Fenghuang Mountain in the southwestern part of the city of Putian, Fujian, this 30. 6-m-high octangonal pagoda in the style of a five-storeyed wooden tower was huilt prior to the first year of the Qiandao reign period (A.D. 1165). The pagoda is remarkable for the exquisite Buddhist relief covering its body, a high architectural level, a massive size, an early date and a good state of preservation, being paralled only by the twin stone pagodas of the Kauyuan Temple at Quanzhou. It was therefore put in the list of national-level monuments for special protection by the State Council in 1988.Every storey of the pagoda is covered in relief with life-size Budhissattvas and lohan holding a variety of Buddhist symbols of the mystic sect, attesting to the expansion of the sect to the coastal areas of southeastern China. Modern Putian belonged to the Eastern Yue and therefore was considered an uncivilized place during the Han dynasty. However, the Sui-Tang period saw the migration of the Central Plains gentry class into the area. As is indicated by a big variety of names of donators recorded in the inscription on this pagoada, the immigrant population was quite large, and became the major force in the local social and economic lives. |
