| 摘要 | The article provides information about Tenzin Gyatso, Dalai Lama XIV in context of his views on modern science in the keynote address at the annual gathering of the Society for Neuroscience. He is believed to be one of religion's most outspoken supporters of modern science. There was a protest regarding Dalai Lama's speech because people felt that a religious leader's ideas into the proceedings would threaten the credibility of the scientific community. The article also throws light on the book written by Dalai Lama. In his book "Destructive Emotions: How Can We Overcome Them?", he presents his views regarding Buddhism and science. According to him, they are no conflicting perspectives on the world, but rather, different approaches to seek the truth. |
