This article presents an interview with Tibetan exile leader Dalai Lama. On being asked about the Iraq War, Dalai Lama said that, when September 11 happened, the next day he wrote a letter to U.S. President George W. Bush as a friend, because he know him personally. He wrote the letter and expressed, besides his condolences and sadness, a counter-measure to this tragedy: a nonviolent response because that would have been more effective. So this is his stance. And then just before the Iraq crisis starred, millions of people from countries like Australia and America expressed their opposition to violence. According to Dalai Lama, initially, terrorism was a certain mixture of politics, economics, and religion. Now, it seems that terrorism is more individual and done to avenge personal grudges.
