| 摘要 | This article reports on a lecture by the Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, at a meeting of the Society for Neuroscience in Washington, D.C., attended by 14,000 people on Nov. 12, 2005. The Dalai Lama said that although science can overturn spiritual teachings, people can benefit from scientific understanding without losing faith. But he also emphasized that religion can help science, too. He urged neuroscientists not to discount the role of Buddhist traditions on the brain, specifically meditation. |
