| 摘要 | The article focuses on the work of archaeologists in Mongolia. The author reviews how scholars from all over the world have gravitated to Mongolia since the early 1990's. The work of various archaeologists from around the world is discussed in details. The history of the nomadic people known as the Tsaatan is reviewed. Archaeologist William Fitzhugh's Deer Stone Project is discussed. The aim of the project is to uncover evidence of cultural links to a circumpolar artistic tradition that could stretch from Mongolia all the way to the Pacific Northwest. INSET: Deer Stones in 3-D. |
