| 摘要 | The article discusses the brief historical background of the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, which is the only Buddhist nation in Europe. This country is home to some 305 thousand people and is roughly equal to that of Czech Republic. It represents the only Buddhist and mongolo-asiatic enclave in Europe. Kalmykia represents varied mosaic of cultures from European to Asiatic, which is home to more than just the Kalmyks. |
