| 摘要 | The article presents information on the study and teaching of neo-Confucian pedagogy which started in the Yuelu Academy. The history of this Academy begins in the Five Dynasties when two Buddhist monks built thatched huts on Yuelu Mountain to shelter literati from social chaos and enable them to study Confucian classics peacefully. The Academy has developed into a well-organized institute with a number of scholars in residence and a substantial collection of rare books and manuscripts. The embedding of the mountain and the Academy in the garden of the Gallery of a Hundred Springs thus illustrates the entanglement of landscape appreciation and learning. |
