| 摘要 | The article focuses on Xinjiang, one of the five ethnic minority autonomous regions in China, which was formerly known as the Western Regions. In the mid-18th century, The Qing government unified the Western Regions so that it became known as Xinjiang, meaning "New Frontier." There are about 90 religious organizations representing the main religions in Xinjiang including Islam, Buddhism and Christianity. The natural environment is suitable for agriculture and animal husbandry. Xinjiang links China with Central Asia and Europe. |
