| 摘要 | The article provides information on how to help athletes suffering from career-threatening injuries accept the things they cannot change by cultivating what Buddhists and other spiritual leaders call "the beginner's mind." According to the author, applying the Buddhism principles to rehabilitation, athletic trainers might help athletes avoid the trap of trying to control things by understanding that whatever happens, happens for the best. In summary, athletic trainers can help athletes develop the Buddhist skills of "taking the middle path." This includes learning how to grieve and let go, accepting what happens and learning from it, having a "you win some, you lose some" attitude, allowing natural pain to occur and working through it. |
