| 摘要 | Windtree: Hymn for the West for orchestra is inspired by the poem "Funeral Song for My Dead Sister" (760 A.D.) by Wall Myung , a well known monk in Shin Ra , an ancient kingdom in Korea. The title of the piece reflects the Buddhist belief that the world of the dead is located in the West. "Funeral Song for My Dead Sister" was originally written in a ten-stanza form called Hyang ga in the language that preceded Korean called Hyang chal . A summary of the poem is as follows: fear of death and emotions regarding his dead sister; emptiness of life; faith in Buddhism. |
