| 摘要 | The purpose of this study was to provide a theoretical framework based on a review of the literature of the practice of Sabbath-keeping to determine whether this practice promotes psychological health and spiritual well-being. Psychological health and spiritual well-being were defined in the context of seven theological variables developed by Paul Pruyser in The Minister As Diagnostician (1976). The study discusses three assumptions: (a) that a spiritual center exists in humans upon which psychologists, Biblical scholars, and theologians have reflected; (b) that rhythmic functions exist in all areas of life; and (c) that the cyclical rhythm of activity and rest provided by the Sabbath makes provision for the natural human need to be spiritually renewed. |
