| 抄録 | 지난 150년간 소마의 식물적 정체성을 두고 서구에는 적지 않은 연구가 있었다. 아직 결론은 없으나 에페드라설과 광대버섯설이 주류를 이룬다. 이런 도취를 가져오는 식물의 사용은 인간의식의 변성을 가져와 신비체험을 발생시킨다. 일부 연구자들은 이런 신비체험은 베다의 우주관 뿐 아니라 후대의 수행법들에도 일정한 영향을 주었다고 주장한다. 그러나 이 주제의 연구는 그간 국내에 소개되지 않았다. 그래서 본 논문은 리그베다의 소마 관련 내용과 소마와 도취제의 기존 연구를 간략히 소개하였다. 또 소마 체험이 후대 인도 형이상학과 수행에 끼친 영향이라는 향후의 연구를 염두에 두고 그 기초 연구로서 도취제의 생리적 효과도 간략히 고찰하였다.
We can not ascertain the botanic identity of soma, but it is sure that soma is a kind of entheogen. the conclusion for 150 year and more in the West is that soma may be ephedra or fly agaric mushroom. But we think that the true significance of study on the soma depends upon the influence of soma to the metaphysic in rgveda and Indian philosophies and religions afterward than upon the identity of soma. Although entheogens have influenced spiritually human society and culture, especially as like religion, for a long time, nowaday almost people take a prejudiced view of them, because they have abused as a kind of drug. But in spite of the public problem as like a drug addict, we must not underestimate the significance of study on the soma as an entheogen, because soma may be important source in the research field on the ancient Indian religions. In chapter Ⅲ. 1., we can see that the study of soma gave many advantages to the problems as like the origin of the Aryan and the interpretation of rgveda. We think that it is desirable that the study of soma in future will be focus on how the soma experience(or mystic experience produced by soma) did accepted and developed in the Indian philosophies and religions later. The study of soma helps to supply new light to the interpretation on many symbolic factors in the vedic sacrifice, especially soma sacrifice, and the study of tantric practices which be thought to involve many ancient customs. Beside it may helps to cure the dogmatic view of the modern religions which lost the vitality of the ancient religions. |
