| 抄録 | Some time in the past I found an old man in an illustration in a Japanese book. The old man looked crazy but charming. I was quite impressed by him. He was a myokonin by the name of Shoma. Though I have studied Buddhism for many years, I did not know about myokonin . After my initial encounter with the picture of Shoma , I started to research the topic and discovered many attractive myokonin in the Japanese Pure Land sects. This paper will discuss myokonin and provide a glimpse into their biographies and poetry. |
