| 抄録 | Non-violence is designated by the term "Ahimsa" as in the definition of the second component of the "eightfold path" leading to the "cessation of suffering." In Jainism，the religion closest to Buddhism，""Ahimsa" is the highest law." Thousands of years before the appearance of biblical religions and of their Islamic reform，the Middle East，"Arabia Felix"，was the country of the highest universal culture based on the religious principle of "Ahimsa". Arabian Jainism was most probably the source from where their religion of fabulous Jinns and Jains spread to the neighboring Sindhu valley. The author offers evidence for his thesis through the translation of Buddhist and Jaina scriptures which are included in his article. |
