| Abstract | 中國社會演至本世紀初，變化動蕩乃是亙古未有. 而經宋，元，明數朝而來的中國佛教，已是衰微不振，遠遠落後於不斷前進的社會與時代. 在此背景之下，中國佛教如果在救世濟人方面重顯其大機大用，更求在當時世界文化學術上重建其優越地位，這就不得不隨緣順變，轉換傳統，重建秩序. 因此，將近兩千年來中國佛教的古老傳統，在變動急劇的中國近現代社會中，基本完成了自身富有時代特徵的轉換. |
