| Abstract | 此文藉著檢驗佛教考古資料、初期漢譯佛典的內容、律部中，所呈現佛教和商人之間的關係，和第四世紀前，中國社會結構、儒家意識型態、種族的狀況、中國對西域的經營、對中亞的貿易、第一世紀佛教在中亞的狀況相互對應，說明佛教透過中亞商人及國際貿易做媒介，傳入中國，並在中國下階層人民和『胡人』間傳播。此文解釋了（一）何以正史記載佛教初期的活動如此少，（二）初期佛教的性格。 |
